The Costa Viola follows the lower Tyrrhenian shore between Villa San Giovanni and Palmi. Here Aspromonte slopes towards the sea, cliffs shelter small bays and sunset views stretch across Sicily, Mount Etna and the Aeolian Islands. Scilla and its fishing quarter Chianalea, Bagnara Calabra and the beaches around Palmi are the best-known stops, but the area also has terraced vineyards, archaeological sites, panoramic paths and traditions linked to swordfish fishing.
