The concert on 22 December at Teatro Cilea

The Christmas concert takes place on Tuesday 22 December 2026 at 9pm at Teatro Francesco Cilea, the city-owned theatre, which is the start time for every show in the series. Who are Incanto Quartet

Incanto Quartet is a group of four classically trained Italian sopranos who move between opera and pop, in a style they call «pop opera». The official website lists the line-up as Rossella Ruini, Laura Celletti, Francesca Romana Tiddi and Claudia Coticelli, the same four singers named by the conservatory for the 2024 Christmas concert; the 2026 sources do not give names.

The four first sang together at the end of 2010 in the quartet DIV4S, with which they supported Andrea Bocelli until 2013 at concerts in the United Kingdom, Ireland and the Teatro del Silenzio in Lajatico, Tuscany. In May 2013 they launched Incanto, which has since played Italian theatres, toured abroad and appeared on television; their recordings include «In Natura», with original arrangements for piano and string quartet.

The 2024 and 2025 concerts

This is not the first time the quartet and the conservatory orchestra have shared the Cilea stage at Christmas. The same pairing performed on 19 December 2024 and 22 December 2025, with the orchestra conducted by Paolo J. Carbone. In 2025 the evening was offered by the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria together with Publidema and admission was free, with free tickets to be collected from the theatre box office.

The programmes published by the conservatory opened with an operatic first half, including the Habanera and other music from Bizet's «Carmen» and the Barcarolle from Offenbach's «The Tales of Hoffmann», followed by songs: «Nella Fantasia», «Can't Help Falling in Love», «Voglio vivere così» and Christmas classics such as «White Christmas», «Jingle Bells» and «Silent Night». They give an idea of the style, but they are not the 2026 programme.

The «L'eleganza dell'Arte» 2026/2027 season

«L'eleganza dell'Arte» is the season created and promoted by Publidema Eventi Musicali, with artistic director Demetrio Mannino, and this is its second edition. The line-up was presented on 22 October 2026 in the Sala dei Lampadari of Palazzo San Giorgio, the city hall, and includes eleven dates at Teatro Cilea spanning songwriting, gospel, theatre and talks, under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Culture, the Calabria Region, the Metropolitan City and the City of Reggio Calabria.

Lina Sastri opens the season with «Voce 'e Notte» on 28 November; after the Christmas concert come Vincent Tharpe & Kenosis on 27 and 28 December, then in 2027 Rondò Veneziano, Paolo Crepet, Fabio Concato, Ron, Aldo Cazzullo, Angelo Branduardi and Roberta Bruzzone. A second concert with the conservatory is planned for Mother's Day on 9 May 2027.

As of 24 October 2026, however, the 22 December concert is not yet on sale on TicketOne, where the other shows of the season are already listed, and its price has not been announced.

In 2025 the same concert was free to attend, with free tickets handed out at the Teatro Cilea box office on 21 and 22 December from 4pm to 7pm while they lasted. Teatro Cilea and how to get there

Teatro Francesco Cilea, named after the opera composer born in nearby Palmi, stands at Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi 325, the main street of central Reggio Calabria, opposite Palazzo San Giorgio, the city hall, and a short walk from the Falcomatà seafront promenade. Reggio Calabria Centrale railway station is on Piazza Garibaldi, at the southern end of the same street. The sources do not mention parking reserved for theatre-goers.

There are other festive concerts in town in December: on Saturday 19 December the Cine Teatro Odeon hosts a gospel Christmas concert, and on 27 and 28 December the gospel choir Vincent Tharpe & Kenosis performs at Teatro Cilea.
