On 19 and 20 September 2026, the National Archaeological Museum and Park of Locri Epizefiri will host a stop on the “Hierophany – On the Paths of the Sacred” tour, a multidisciplinary travelling exhibition organised by the Ministry of Culture. The project takes in a number of sites symbolic of the cultural memory of Central and Southern Italy, bringing together archaeological heritage, contemporary art, music, dance, poetry and reflections on the sacred.

Event details

In Locri, the exhibition will take the public on a journey through the ruins of Magna Graecia and the museum’s galleries, in an itinerary dedicated to landscape, memory and the various forms in which the sacred continues to manifest itself in contemporary culture. On Saturday 19 September, the programme includes the opening of Antonio Taschini’s exhibition “Archetype”, with musical accompaniment by Hang Dub; the talk “The Song of Creation: In the Footsteps of Francis”; and, in the evening, the contemporary dance performance “Liturgical Bodies” by the Zappalà Dance Company. On Sunday 20 September, following the morning’s guided tour of the Archaeological Park, the programme will continue with “Pietre che cantano” (Singing Stones), an event dedicated to poetry featuring Galatea Ranzi, with cello accompaniment by Franca Bongiovanni and an introduction by Francesca Serragnoli.
