From 23 to 27 September 2026, the Parco Caserta Sport Village in Reggio Calabria will host the 17th ‘Pino Labate Memorial’ National Regional Beginners’ and Juniors’ Trophy, an event dedicated to artistic roller skating and forming part of the programme for the 2026 Calabria Skate Festival. Over 600 young athletes from around 90 sports clubs across various Italian regions are expected to take part in five days of competitions, semi-finals, finals and prize-giving ceremonies for the Regional Novice and Regional Junior categories.

Event details

The Trophy takes place on the Parco Caserta rink named after Pino Labate, a leading figure in Calabrian skating – a sports administrator, competition official and organiser who contributed to the growth of the regional roller skating movement for over twenty years. The Memorial honours his memory through the values of sport, participation and the development of young people. Alongside the competitive element, the programme also dedicates space to the theme of wellbeing. On Thursday 24 September at 5.00 pm, the Parco Caserta Sport Village will host the ‘Sport, Youth and Wellbeing’ day, featuring the sessions ‘Nutrire lo Sport’ and ‘Mente e Sport’, dedicated to the relationship between sporting activity, nutrition, mental and physical balance, and emotions. This will be followed by the awards ceremony for the Calabrian athletes who competed in the Italian Artistic and Freestyle Skating Championships.
