The sea, tradition and devotion come together in Bovalino at the "San Francesco e i Doni del Mare" Blue Fish Festival, an event that celebrates the bond between the community and its patron saint, Saint Francis of Paola, protector of seafarers. On 4 and 5 August 2026, the charming Rione Sant’Elena, a historic fishermen’s quarter, will host two evenings dedicated to local flavours, conviviality and entertainment, leading up to the patron saint’s celebrations which will subsequently also involve the Rione Borgo.
Event details
The star of the event will be blue fish, a hallmark of Calabrian maritime culinary tradition, presented as a culinary journey that illustrates the deep connection between Bovalino and its sea. [gallery]
