Estate Taurianovese 2026: almost two months of events in Taurianova

From 25 July to 13 September 2026, the Municipality of Taurianova fills the town with Estate Taurianovese, a packed programme weaving together live music, theatre, book presentations, food festivals, street food, beer festivals and patron-saint feasts. Events take place in the town's landmark spots — Piazza Italia, Piazza Macrì, the Villa Comunale Antonino Fava, the square and the A. Renda public library, Corso XXIV Maggio — and in the hamlets of Amato (Piazza Gagliardi) and San Martino (Piazza Principe Umberto). The line-up is designed both for locals and for anyone visiting the Piana di Gioia Tauro in summer.

Concerts and live music

Music takes centre stage all summer. It opens on 27 July with Frisina Live in Piazza Italia and continues with the band 'I Senza Nome' (29 July), Giulio Candido Live (9 August) and the Duo Frisina-Reitano (16 August). The highlight is the concert by rapper Briga on 21 August in Piazza Gagliardi in Amato, followed by Techno Tarantella. There is also Roberta Bella and Marco Calone (20 August), the jazz group 'La lingua madre, il potere e i segreti del dialetto' with Arcangelo Badolati (25 August, Piazza Macrì), the town band concert (8 September) and the Galà dei Miracoli, the closing concert on 9 September. The 'Bar Night' and 'Sapori di casa' evenings also bring live music to the centre.

Food festivals, street food and beer festivals

Food plays a leading role. The summer opens with the Beer Festival between Amato and Piazza Italia (25-26 July) and continues with 'Sapori di casa', a wine and food tasting (29 July). From 4 to 6 August the Taurianova Street Food event runs along Via Senatore Loschiavo up to Piazza Macrì, with dj sets and live shows. On 12 August the Beer Festival moves to San Martino. During the San Pio patron-saint feast in Amato there are the Sagra Paisana with a gathering of organetti and tambourines (18 August) and the 'Food, pizza and grand gala' evening (19 August). At the end of the month Piazza Macrì hosts the Fair with Street Food (28-30 August) and the 'U' Mbitu' event (29 August).

Patron-saint feasts and tradition

Religious feasts mark the Taurianova summer. In San Martino di Taurianova the feast of Maria Santissima della Colomba is celebrated (7-8 August), with shows in Piazza Principe Umberto. In Amato di Taurianova the San Pio patron-saint feast animates Piazza Gagliardi from 17 to 21 August, with comedies, a country food fair, food and concerts. The grand finale is the feast of Maria SS. della Montagna, Taurianova's main patron-saint celebration, from 7 to 9 September, with the town band concert and the Galà dei Miracoli.

Books, theatre and culture

There is plenty of room for culture. The literary strand touches the Villa Comunale Antonino Fava and the A. Renda Library with many presentations: 'Lava' by Patrizio Nissirio (26 July, hosted by Tauria Noir), the poetry of Lorenzo Calogero (30 July), 'Calabria after the 1783 earthquake' (3 August), 'Generative Welfare in Calabria' (9 August), 'Correva l'anno 1946' by Rosario Scarfò (13 August), 'Un cuore greco' by Marina Valensise (17 August), 'Il tempo del male' by Santo Gioffrè (18 August) and 'Stefania Filo Speziale' by Rocco Romeo (19 August). On the performance side: the Baroncini theatre operas (28 July and 5 August), the International Madonnari (street-painting) Competition Città di Taurianova (31 July-2 August), the Calabria School of Acting show (19 August), the Fashion Show (31 August), Miss Stellina (2 September), 'La Corrida - amateurs on stage' (3 September) and the Motorbike Rally (13 September).
