From 17 August to 10 September 2026, the fifth edition of the Allegria Festival will bring live entertainment to the neighbourhoods of Reggio Calabria, with a programme spread across the city involving Pellaro, Bocale and other locations. The event, organised by the association Calabria dietro le quinte APS as part of "ReggioFest2026: cultura diffusa", features theatre, cabaret, music, magic, circus acts and activities specifically for children and families. From 19 to 23 August, the Pellaro seafront will become one of the festival’s main stages, hosting performances featuring clowning, magic, puppetry, musical theatre and bubble shows.

Event details

Among the headliners are Ugo Sanchez JR, the Disguido duo, Nando Brusco and Marco Bellomo. In Bocale, on 25 and 26 August, the spotlight will be on Gennaro Calabrese ’s cabaret and Luca Guaraldi ’s music. Alongside the performances, the festival focuses on audience participation and exploring the local area through comedy theatre workshops, children’s workshops, circus arts and a dramatised urban walk to the Fortini di Pentimele. On 18 August, on Punta Pellaro beach, the Kite Festival will colour the sky with large artistic kites, performances and kite-making workshops for families. A programme that brings different forms of performance to the city’s public spaces, transforming squares, the seafront and community venues into opportunities for people to come together and get involved.
