Dining at the Tonnara: fresh fish and sea views

The votive structure stands sixteen metres tall and weighs around twenty tonnes: an iron frame covered in papier-mâché, mounted on an oak base and carried on shoulders through the streets of the centre.

In the days around the feast the town changes pace: the central streets are closed, timetables stretch, and restaurants work at full capacity until late at night. It is the moment of the year when booking is not advisable but necessary, even several days ahead, and when it is worth checking which streets can still be reached by car.
