The Sila and transhumance

The Sila is one of the great plateaus of the southern Apennines, with forests, lakes and biodiversity protected by the Sila National Park. The festival draws inspiration from transhumance, the ancient seasonal movement of flocks that shaped the landscapes, trails and communities of the Calabrian mountains. Through trails, biodiversity, local food and drink, music, culture and sporting activities, the event invites visitors to discover the most authentic side of the Sila, across Spezzano della Sila, Camigliatello Silano, Lorica and San Giovanni in Fiore.

A festival spread across the whole summer

With two months of programming, from 24 June to 23 August 2026, the Transumanze Sila Festival combines shows, music, workshops, food and drink and outdoor activities in several places across the plateau. It is a chance to experience the Calabrian mountains in summer, between nature, culture and traditions, with events designed for families, enthusiasts and tourists.
