“Lorenzo Calogero” Poetry Festival

From 6 to 11 August 2026, Melicuccà will host the “Lorenzo Calogero” Poetry Festival, an event dedicated to the poetic word, cultural memory and the languages of the contemporary world. In the birthplace of Lorenzo Calogero – one of the most intense and original voices in 20th-century Italian poetry – poetry once again becomes a space for meeting, listening and sharing. For six days, the streets, squares and iconic locations of the village will welcome poets, writers, artists, scholars, musicians and leading figures from contemporary culture.
Event details
The programme will feature talks, readings, discussions, performances, music, art and moments of reflection, linking Calogero’s poetic legacy with the questions, sensibilities and visions of the present day. The “Lorenzo Calogero” Poetry Festival is an invitation to discover Melicuccà through the power of words and the beauty of participation, on a journey that brings together culture, the local area and the community.
